This cottage is the original Carriage House which was Professor Crenshaw’s personal hide-away. He, like today’s guests, must have appreciated the peace and quiet which this secluded building offers; for it was here that he authored mathematics textbooks which earned him international recognition in his field. The Carriage House still has the foot-wide floor planks which were laid before the turn-of-the-century. The floors and the cedar walls help it retain a rustic feel. It also boasts a full sized bed in a ladder accessible loft above the queen bed and a twin day bed adjacent to the full bath. The room is named for Dr. Charles Thach, who was the 6th president of Auburn.
